Default Can I take Keflex for a bladder infection?

There are only certain antibotics for this problem and it also depends on what is causing it so it really needs to be tested so that your Doctor can prescribe the right antibotic for you.Go to the Doctor asap as bladder infections can get really bad and do more damage than just giving you pain such as going to your kidneys.hope it turns out ok for you

Only if that is what the doctor prescribed for you. If he didn't prescribe it for that then no. YOu need to find out what bug is causing your UTI.

no this antibiotic was given for another type of infection and should have been taken as directed until gone. This is how superbugs like MRSA are created. see a doctor for all types of infection and completely finish the correct antibiotic. to avoid bladder infections try mixing 2 tablespoons of vinegar in a gallon of water. drink the gallon throughout the day.

Yes, IF the doctor prescribed it for you. Don't take your friends antibiotics or some old antibiotics that you have laying around. Some antibiotics work better for some infections than others. If you take just anything and it does not totally get rid of the infection, it will just cause the infection to come back worse than before and it will be harder to get rid of.

Please consult first your doctor before taking in any anti-biotics like Keflex, this might do more harm than good if its not prescribed to you. How did you know you have bladder infection? It might also be the adjoining structures like your ureter, urethra, kidneys etc. It is best to seek consult first before medication.

In addition to being a rational first-line treatment for cellulitis, it is a useful alternative to penicillins in patients with penicillin hypersensitivity. In patients with mild or questionable history of penicillin allergy, cephalasporins are now thought to be relatively safe

You definitely should contact your doctor first before taking up any drugs for your bladder infection. Keflex has the following side effects: Diarrhea; dizziness; headache; indigestion; joint pain; stomach pain; tiredness. Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); agitation; confusion; dark urine; decreased urination; fever; hallucinations; red, swollen, or blistered skin; seizures; severe or bloody diarrhea; severe stomach pain or cramps; severe tiredness; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual vaginal pain, odor, or discharge; yellowing of the eyes or skin.
