Default Here is a good list of ways you can prevent heartburn:

Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
Avoid trigger foods - see this post trigger foods for heartburn
Don't eat within two to three hours before bedtime
If you're overweight, lose the extra pounds
Elevate your head a few inches while you sleep
Don't wear belts or clothes that are tight fitting around the waist
Avoid smoke or second hand smoke
stop too much alcohol intake or avoid alcoholic beverages

Normally people have a problem of heartburn because of eating spicy food. there are some tips to prevent heart bur such as limit your intake of beverages, maintain weight, do not smoking, avoid high fat and spicy food and drink plenty of water.

heartburn usually happens when you eat something, so yeah. thanks for the tip you just gave.

Avoid eating fatty foods such as steak or pork. Drink lots of water and exercise.

Tomatoes - kinda surprising since they have lycopene but can be acidic still
Garlic and Onion
