I have had gallbladder disease for 8 years now, just recently diagnosed. I have stomach pain quite often followed by vomiting episodes. They had me on ranitidine which didn't really work. Now I am on AcipHex and just last night had a real bad episode. I do not have insurance and the test and removal is currently out of question to have done. Can anything serious happen if I keep my "bad" gallbladder in and continue to take medicine that doesn't seem to help?

Go the the doctor, a doctors advice would be much better than anything you would find on here

You would have to know the exact nature of the gallbladder disease. Is it stones, or other problems such as abnormal growth? Because the management are different.
Generally, for stone disease which are symptomatic (eg. frequent pain after meals, previous infection etc.) surgery to remove the gallbladder will be advised by your doctor. This is because there is a chance of problems arising from stones falling out and/or blocking ducts, causing cholecystitis (inflammation of gallbladder), cholangitis (inflammation of bile ducts) and pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas). |

I had gall bladder problems for 5 years before the doctors figured out what was wrong w/ me! They kept telling me I was having gas. I felt like I was having a heart attack. It was awful!!! I would be up all night long sometimes. My gall bladder attack was right below my chest in the middle. At the top (in between) my ribs.
