Default Hair LOSS question. Please help me!?

I'm 19 years old, and come from a family with good hair. My mom (who's 45, will probably develop thinning hair by the time she's 55, but until then, she's good. My dad is 60, and he has a great head of hair)

I used to have good, thick hair, but suddenly started developing thinning at the crown shortly, and limping after allowing my hair to grow long.

I've tried to minoxidil, but it's a bit expensive. Could my hairloss be because of the unaccostumed length of my hair? Or is it hormonal?

I've gotten the suggestion of using Propecia- is this an okay solution?

Thanks

first off, stress is a leading cause for hair loss, (something to think about) secondly, i wouldn't worry about it, since you can loose up to 100 hairs a day, yes EACH DAY, but they grow back, it's not permanent, especially if you're 19. Wearing hats can "wear" or smash your hair and damage it, which will cause it to fall out. Growing it longer and make it seem thinning, due to it laying differently, but it won't make you go bald or anything, but you do "pull" on it more with combing and sleeping, where you didn't before

Honestly though, more and more younger men have thinning hair. I think it's due to more men, especially younger men, using more and more styling products than in generations before. Men are using blow dryers, and straighting their hair, and since most men have shorter hair, you notice the damage, whereas woman can hide it by styling their hair differently each day.

propecia works pretty well at stopping the loss- but its expensive. rogaine ahs gone generic- just called minoxidil- way cheaper than it used to be- maybe try that.

In your case heredity is not a problem but you may be facing a problem of male pattern baldness due to changes in hormonal level i.e. testosterone in the body and the condition is known as "Androgenic Alopecia". Make your hair cut short as long hair are difficult to manage. Propecia is good for you and very effective too.

I think it's just stress, or testosterone levels. You can also use aloe vera. Get the juice from the leaves and massage on your scalp.

Hi all,

Hair loss and slow hair growth can be caused by a number of factors including genetics, hormone imbalances, and nutrient deficiencies such as B vitamins, which are essential for hair health; scalp infections, and chemically laden hair care products.

However, the best and simple way to grow fast hair is to wash your hair with a shampoo and conditioner that works on your hair because the dirt present in the hair restricts the supply of vital proteins and ingredients that are essential for the hair growth.
