But, I know someone with a gastrointestinal problem with both duck eggs and chicken eggs.

She tried it and didn't get hives, but got a bad stomachache and the runs. How come? Someone else in her family gets stomach pain - severe heartburn - when eating eggs. They are not sure why. Can they just not digest eggs? Digestive enzymes didn't help, either. So do you think it is a digestive problem or some other kind of reactive problem?

I never eat duck egg... I always prefer chicken egg.!!

have your friend checked with a doctor about it? I have friend with gastrointestinal problems but they don't have any problems eating any type of egg (chicken, duck or quail - I think even seen them eat ostrich's egg). Anyways, there could be a chance that your friend is just allergic to eggs.
