I am young and I too have pretty high levels of cholesterol. I would have to say that yes it is quite difficult to have a very healthy diet since at my age, it is not something I am worried about just as yet. I still enjoy drinking excessive alcohol and fatty food at parties. I know someday it is going to change but when it does, I hope the reason wouldn't be because I HAVE TO (for medical reasons) but because I CHOSE TO. But, it is not just about your diet but it is also about your lifestyle. Being able to be stress free and having exercise can help out as well.

Smile Important tips To control Cholesterol

Hi
As a Physician would like to suggest some Tips to control Cholesterol.
Here are few tips.

* Diet
Consumption of foods that are low in fat and cholesterol. For example, by consuming milk without the fat and reduce consumption of meat. Choose foods with unsaturated fat than saturated fat content. Oil used to fry repeatedly to raise cholesterol levels, then you’ll want to reduce the consumption of fried foods.
* Consumption of fiber
Consume more fibrous foods such as wheat, beans, vegetables and fruits. These foods can absorb cholesterol in the blood and remove it from the body.
* Consumption of antioxidants
Antioxidants found in many fruits such as oranges, strawberries, papaya, carrots, or squash. Eating garlic regularly can lower cholesterol.
* Avoid alcohol and smoking
With smoke or consume alcohol, be easy to accumulate cholesterol in the bloodstream.
* Sports
Exercise regularly according to age and ability. Keep your body weight remains the ideal.

I think this would help you a lot.
Good Luck!!

Aside from what I have mentioned earlier, here are more tips to lower your cholesterol levels:
Know your cholesterol level
take medication timely
avoid saturated fat
eat more fiber
eat more fish

Foods to avoid or limit include:
Whole milk, cream, and ice cream
Butter, egg yolks, and cheese—and foods made with them
Organ meats, such as liver, sweetbreads, and kidney
High-fat processed meats, such as sausage, bologna, salami, and hot dogs
Fatty meats that aren’t trimmed
Duck and goose meat (raised for market)
Baked goods made with egg yolks and saturated fats
Fried foods
Saturated fats, including coconut oil, palm oil, and palm kernel oil
Solid fats, such as shortening, partially hydrogenated margarine, and lard

I totally agree with it and nothing else. OK I don't say excess of junk food or fried food, but without oils and fats how can your nutrition be a composite one. After all you are only 23, you can't live your rest of life eating boiled food. You only need to pull some time out of your job and burn out what you are eating. But make sure you do it with a dedication.

If you weigh more than you should, slimming down may produce a significant drop in your cholesterol level. You should exercise reguraly walking and other, more moderate physical activities are good for your heart.

Through the interaction with the phosphoric fatty acid chains, cholesterol increases membrane packing, which reduces membrane fluidity.

I totally agree. One problem with the young ones we have nowadays is that they are stuck with a lot of things like electronic gadgets and fast foods etc. etc. This contributes on why they don't go out a lot or they eat the wrong food.
