Does your baby have reflux? My baby just started taking Axid yesterday for the supposed reflux.. You can try feeding him rice cereal instead of medications to thicken the milk and they spit less.

My son had acid reflux really bad and I tried everything. His doctor started giving him zantac which helped so much but then I decided to try a different bottle. I was using the EvenFlo Elan bottles then I switched to Dr. Browns, amazingly after the first feeding with the new bottle...he was not crying or spitting up so I was completely sold. I did continue using the zantac for a little while just because I didnt want to risk it but I would def. suggest trying one of the Dr. Browns bottles, you can buy one for only about 5 dollar so I mean it's not that big a deal if it doesn't work. I hope your baby feels better...

Our baby girl was diagnosed at birth and she was on Zantac before she left the hospital. They told us she will probably be on it until at least 9 months. My friends son was on Zantac and Reglan (I think this is what it is called - to help with spitting up?) until hes was almost two! I hope she doesn't need it this long!

it's different for every baby; ours is eleven mos, but i think he still wants her on it bc of two reasons; she had it horribly, and i think still does have quite a bit although she doesn't spit up like she did; and also bc she's teething terribly and frequently getting meds and he doesn't want to add the acid back while she's on meds that could potentially irritate her stomach/esophagus....

don't rush it, it won't hurt him to be on it even if it's after his reflux subsides for a while....better too long than too short; best wishes
