Default My breastfed baby is on Zantac which cause constipation. With less waste being release, where does it all go?

my exclusively b/f baby is on zantac for acid reflux (0.7ml/2x day). One of the side effect is constipation. her bowel movement are still 8x day but they are very little. She does release only 1 diaper explosive a day.. Overall the total is less than normal. Question: if she not releasing as much, where does the rest of the waste go?

Constipation is define as less waste release and not release of hard pellet-- that is really a different medical term.

I remember a baby who had not passed faeces for 14 days, but the Dr wasn't worried cause the baby was totally breast feed. I recall her putting her little finger into the baby's rectum and just like a piping bag out it came. Zantac will slow the impulses of the babies bowel and also the excitation of the babies stomach. This will reduce the appetite and slow the action of the bowel and thus less faeces will be produced. The baby is probably eating less breast milk also.
