I recently just got my navel pierced and its kind of swollen (not too much just a little. I heard that I can take motrin but does that really work? Does it really make the swelling down?

You can take Motrin, Advil or any ibuprofen product to decrease the swelling. Just remember the aftercare of your navel piercing! Have a soak in warm salt water every night to pull out the pus. Don't cover it with greasy stuff like neosporin. Use liquid Bactine. And keep it clean.

Yes it does help. But since is such a small area, you probably won't even notice the difference. You are probably better off applying an ice pack. However it could be that it is infected. Other questions to consider are
Is it draining pus? is it Red? Is it hot? Is it tender? yes to any of these could mean infection. Keep it clean, and wash your hands before touching it. Clean it with alcohol. This should help. |

but do you really think that it will work? this is a question that you have to ask one if they have a belly percing!!. |

Depending on the type of piercing. If you have oral piercings lip, labret, monroe, madonna, tongue etc. Crushed ice should be used on the site to ease swelling, cold beverages like Slurpies, Freezies...
