Not really. Ibuprofen isn't time released or enteric coated. You really should take motrin, or advil, (they are the same drug, they just have a different name) with food to avoid stomach irritation. You could save yourself the trouble of having to crush the pills and buy liquid advil.

You shouldn't do that.
A lot of medicines and pills are "time-release", meaning they're designed to break down in your stomach slowly and release the medication over the course of a few hours. If you crush the pills, you're dumping all of the medication into your system at once, which could overload your body. That's one of the reasons that people sometimes die from trying to crush and snort Oxycontin. Probably you'd be fine, but better safe than sorry. Why don't you just get some powdered aspirin or Theraflu with acetaminophen? |

that kind of medicine is enteric coated.. you should not chop it cause it is designed to be released in your intestine to be absorbed.
it may cause you gastric irritations etc. |
