Interesting that the last prescription of some heavy-duty antibiotics I was given for home use had instructions actually mentioned needing to take probiotics! However, I was recently hospitalized and given IV antibiotics and they never even mentioned probiotics! This entry ( HERE ) has something in it about addressing gut issues with antibiotic usage.
