It is not which one is stronger but which bacteria is susceptible to the antibiotic.

Amoxicillin belongs to a class of antibiotics called penicillins. Other members of this class include ampicillin (Unasyn), piperacillin (Pipracil), ticarcillin (Ticar) and several others.

Both the drugs are antibiotics used in the fight against bacteria.

As you know, most Sinus infections are either due to fungus or due to virus. So both these drugs may not be of any use if the infection is not bacterial.

To be on the safe side, why not use drug free methods of treating sinus infections. Here are a couple:

1] Sinox Nasal Spray: Sinox Nasal Spray helps you rinse away thick and persistent mucus and relieve your discomfort from the congestion often found in conditions such as fungal and chronic sinusitis, the common cold (acute rhino-sinusitis), and the flu. Sinox Spray is easy to use, non-systemic and drug-free; it's combination of mild antiseptics and surfactants helps you keep your sinuses, nasal passage and throat mucus-free.

2] Irrigation of the nose using a saline solution. A Neti-pot or a tea pot can be used.
