The zithromax shouoldn't cause any, the prednisone might cause you to be hungry and a little hyper, best to take as prescribed (I am assuming he put you on a medrol dose pack and you take a certain # of pills for 5 days) and the albuteral inhaler tastes terrible and may speed up your heart rate for a minute. With the inhaler if you didn't get a spacer it is important to shake it before you put it in your mouth and aim it high off the tounge if yu can. Make sure you take as deep a breathe as you can and hold it. Wait a few minutes before the second puff if he ordered 2 puffs. Sounds like you've got yourself a bad respiratory infection. Fortunately zithromax clears things up fast!

I sometimes get a headache and increased heartrate with my albuterol inhaler, but that's only if I use it more than I'm supposed to (like at a swim meet, I'll use it like every 2-3 hours instead of 4-6)
with Zithromax you might get an upset stomach or diarrhea, since it's an antibiotic and may kill off your normal gut flora... take it with a little bit of food if you get nauseous with your first dose. You really have nothing to worry about with those three drugs though if you take them as directed... there aren't really any major side effects that come with them! |

Sounds like you have bronchitis or some other type of respiratory tract infection. You are pretty sick. The last time I got this group was after I got a bacterial infection following the flu. Zithromax is an antibiotic--it may give you a yeast infection or diarrhea, but you might not get them either. If you do, call the doc and they'll tell you what to do. Prednisone will help reduce inflammation--it's okay to take for a short period of time. The inhaler will make you a little light headed. I'd take the medicine and stay home for a day or two and just rest up. Drink a lot of water. I don't think you'll get well without these in your present condition. Been there, done that. Sick as a dog.

well look, i have no idea what that one is, but i can tell you this. If it is something that will make you better, take it. Sideaffects, especcialy ones apparently like that, probly won't happen. If they do, they would be generally mild. Like if the pill was to help you stay alive, and one of the sideaffects listed were headaches and vomiting, take it. Better then suffering.

Everyone has had side effects with every single drug on the market. My brother takes four medications where death is a side effect. You have to balance the risks vs. the desired outcome. Consider getting help for anxiety problems if it is preventing you from helping your illness.
I can tell you from personal experience that prednisone can have serious side effects in high dosages, and lesser effects (reduced immune system, slow healing) in low dosages. I've had Zythomax in the past; it's an antibiotic that unfortunately didn't work for my problem at the time. Most common side effect is diarrhea which gets better. |

I took Zithromax at one point, had some MILD stomach upset, but was ok after a few days...
After taking an antibiotic (once you're done wiht it and feeling better) try eating some yogurt for a couple of days, to build up the normal "flora" (the normal amount of bacteria in your stomach that helps with digestion). Your body is used to it and needs it. Also make sure you take all of the antibiotics prescribed- not just until you feel better. That's how we keep from creating "super bacteria" Hope this helps! |

My heart doctor has me take the z-pak (zithromax) the first week of every month, especially in the winter. When I did get the flu (yes, I took the shot) it was a very mild case. Didn't need to be hospitalized.
Prednisone is a different fellow. Depending on the amount you take, it can change your entire body. I was on 60mg a day and it nearly destroyed me. My husband took me to the Mayo Clinic and they said the prednisone was killing me and to get off of it. You have to be weaned off and it took nearly a year for me to get back to normal. Albuteral is a good inhaler. No problems there. You should rinse out your mouth after inhaling it though. It caused my friend to have sores in her mouth and throat. She wasn't rinsing. Hope this information was helpful! |

I am one of those people who CANNOT take z-pak. So, having had a horrible experience with it (and a relative with a similar experience) I say to beware of it. If you begin to have a bad reaction to it, trust your gut (no pun intended) and tell your doctor right away. The reaction can get out of hand and can lead to certain problems that, unfortunately, you would have to live with for the rest of your life. Don't take that chance. To some people it is much too powerful of a drug. I now have an inoperable rectal abcess that negatively affects my daily quality of life. (Well, it can be operated on, but the operation sounds worse than the suffering, and there is no guarantee -- and it usually gets repeated several times ... so, no thanks.)
