i am not familiar with zithromax personally, but looking it up at drugs.com does not say anything about not drinking with it. there is a section on that website of what to avoid while taking zithromax, and alcohol is not listed there. if it was even a remote danger to you i'm sure it would be there.

so go have fun!

No, it is not safe to drink alcohol with zithromax.Because Zithromax is an antibiotics medicine and drinking can make antibiotics ineffective.

It is most important to know why is a patient is on antibiotics. Although alcohol might not have adverse effects on the medication but it can worsen the disease symptoms you are facing.

It's never really a good thing to mix alcohol and any kind of drug actually. I think you should just hang out with them. Common side effects for zithromax are (could be worse if mixed with alcohol):
Diarrhea or loose stools; headache; mild stomach pain; nausea; upset stomach; vomiting.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Zithromax:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); bloody or watery stools; changes in hearing or hearing loss; chest pain; eye or vision problems; irregular heartbeat; muscle weakness; pain or inflammation at the injection site; pounding in the chest; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; ringing in the ears; seizure; severe or persistent diarrhea; stomach cramps or pain; symptoms of liver problems (eg, yellowing of the skin or eyes; dark urine; pale stools; severe or persistent nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite; unusual itching); trouble speaking or swallowing; unusual vaginal itching, odor, or discharge.

Zithromax is a drug medication used for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria in the body. Take the drug as prescribed and to clear up the infection totally, you must take the medication for the whole course of the treatment period, unless otherwise advised by the doctor to discontinue.
