Default Swollen, sore lips that refuse to heal?

I woke up with swollen lips last Friday morning. I believed that it was an allergic reaction from taking two different sinus medication the evening before.

However, I thought they would be fine the next day, but it's Wednesday and they haven't gotten any better. I wake up in the morning and they're crusted over, swollen to twice their size, and burning. I have used five different lip balms: Vaseline lip therapy, Carmex, Blistex medicated lip ointment, Lip Vitamins, and a prescription lip ointment called Zovirax.

I saw a doctor yesterday, but she didn't know what to tell me. She just said to stop using everything but the Vaseline and to take Benedryl. But this isn't helping. I can't kiss my fiancee, it hurts to open my mouth to eat; I can't even go five minutes without applying some kind of balm. I'm just miserable, and getting desperate. It's finals week, so that doesn't help, either.

Can anyone help me, PLEASE?

The problem could be stress since it is finals week.

You could try stuff to help you de-stress, e.g.

Rescue Remedy

Hot baths

Hot milk, or similar hot drinks

Anything you have used in the past that has worked.

Hope this helps.

time heals all wounds. Just smear that Carmex liberally all over your lips and it will make it better.

Quit taking the benadryl (diphenhydramine) because its probably also one of the active ingredients in one of the sinus medications which may be the allergen and causing your lips to be swollen up and crusted over.
