Did they tell you "it won't" or did they say "it isn't likely"?

All antibiotics carry the potential of causing yeast infections. Just like all motorized vehicles carry the potential of a fatal accident. Not all antibiotics carry the same risk. You've also less chance of an accident in a golf cart than in a Ferrari on a wet, twisty road at night. Get it?

Metronidazole is not particularly notorious for causing yeast infections.

All antibiotics carry the potential of causing aggrandize infections. Just like all automatic cars backpack the abeyant of a baleful accident. Not all antibiotics backpack the aforementioned risk. You've also less chance of an blow in a golf barrow than in a Ferrari on a wet, arced alley at night.

Flgyl is really hard core and really does a number on your body. I'm not even sure if it's healthy to take it for more than a week and causes yeast infection. You should definitely talk to your doctor about this.
